What is Top Down Management?

Top down management is characterized by the top leadership making company wide decisions for the whole firm. In this structure, the highest level of management will make decisions and then inform the rest of the teams down the hierarchy. This management style can be applied to anything such as a whole corporation, a small team, or anything in between.

What is motivation and how does it equal behavior?

Motivation is the reason or reasons that one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. But here’s the catch, behavior is three-pronged. Sure, motivation is one aspect of it but what else is involved in behavior? Well, that’s where the FOGG Behavior Model comes in. According to the FOGG Behavior Model in order for an action to occur three things must be activated. One, motivation, or the ‘want to.’ Two, ability, or the ‘how to.’ And three, trigger, or the ‘remember to.’ At the intersection of all three prongs equals behavior. 

Who is Monica Luevanos?

Discovering your brand elements can be an overlooked step in the personal branding process, especially when you’re working on other projects. After starting my role as Managing Editor/Managing Director for this quarters AIMC class, I had very little knowledge of what my job would entail, and to be honest 20 days in I still don’t know what is coming next, but that that is just part of the process. In my opinion there is no better way to learn than to be thrown into a situation that you are unfamiliar with, try to figure it out and learn from your mistakes. Or to put it simply with one of my new favorite quotes adopted from my professor, Dan Purdy, “fail forward.”
