About
Shantala Samant is Associate Professor with the Department of Management, College of Business & Economics, at Western Washington University. She completed her Ph.D. in Management from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech University. Her research has been published in journals such as Energy Policy, Global Strategy Journal, International Business Review, and Managerial and Decision Economics.
Her primary research and teaching interests are in the area of international business and business strategy. Her work focuses on understanding the phenomena of firm internationalization, inter-firm relationships, innovation and technology development, and macro-economic development. Her research is situated in diverse contexts such as emerging economies, the bio-pharmaceutical industry, renewable energy technologies, and international patenting regimes. She teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses on International Business and Strategic Management.
