Director's Welcome

Welcome to the Western MBA website. If you have landed on this page, it is likely that you are investigating one of our MBA Program tracks and asking yourself if one of our graduate programs might be a fit for you on your professional journey. We believe that the decision to pursue an MBA is a very personal one that is often based on timing, your personal goals, and balance with all the other things a person might have going on in their life: families, careers, service to their community, etc.

What you will never find from us is a relentless effort to convince you that our program is right for you. What you will find, however, is a faculty and staff that is invested in helping and advising you about the programs we offer, and discussing with you if our programs are a good fit with your professional goals. Whether you are in the very early stages of evaluating MBA Programs, or looking to start an application today, please let us know how we can best support you.

We meet our students where they are, and help them get where they want to go.” - Kati Johnson, MBA Director

Next Steps

So, what are the next steps that we recommend for all prospective students?

  • Although you don’t need to know the exact job that you hope to have post-MBA, it is helpful if you know the general direction in which you want to head in your career. Is there a location? An industry? A specific business discipline in which you want to work? The more time you can take to reflect on these questions, the more help we can provide as advisors when you evaluate our programs and coursework.

  • Schedule time to attend an information session or a one-on-one advising session with a member of our team.

  • Start an application online so you can familiarize yourself with the necessary steps. It is free to start an application and always better to do well in advance of an upcoming deadline.

Why the Western MBA Program

The culture of the Western MBA Program is unique and unlike many other MBA Programs. Our students and faculty are self-starters who enjoy the collaborative cohort environment, while maintaining a sense of individuality and personal responsibility. The Western MBA provides an open forum for ideas that requires an open-minded, non-judgmental, passionate, and mature individual in order to succeed.
