About

Jared Moore is a professor of accounting in the College of Business & Economics at Western Washington University. He joined the accounting faculty in 2019 after spending 13 years on the accounting faculty at Oregon State University. He holds B.S. (Accountancy), Master of Taxation, and PhD (Accounting; 2006) degrees from Arizona State University and is licensed as a certified public accountant (Arizona).

Prior to his doctoral studies, Professor Moore worked for seven years in the private sector, specializing mainly in financial accounting and business and individual taxation. Professor Moore's research has been published in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, including The Journal of the American Taxation Association, The Journal of Business, Finance & Accounting, The National Tax Journal, The Journal of Business Research, and Advances in Accounting. He is a member of the American Accounting Association, the American Taxation Association, and the National Tax Association. He currently serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief for Advances in Accounting and regularly serves on committees for the American Taxation Association.

Professor Moore’s teaching interests are in the areas of financial accounting and taxation; and his research interests include the interplay between tax and financial reporting, market implications of tax and accounting information, corporate taxes and business decisions, tax avoidance, and tax and financial reporting policy issues.
