Dr. Michael S. Miller is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Western Washington University. In addition he is Professor Emeritus in the Driehaus College of Business at DePaul University in Chicago.  He served on the full-time faculty of DePaul from the completion of his PhD in economics at the University of Pittsburgh in 1980 until his retirement in 2023. His areas of expertise are applied macroeconomics and business conditions analysis.  In addition to teaching macroeconomics and pursing research on the economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Miller spent 18 years in administration, serving as department chairman and associate dean.  He was twice the recipient of DePaul University’s Excellence in Teaching Award.  Dr. Miller has taught overseas as well, including time in Hong Kong, Czechia, Poland, and Bahrain. He has been for many years a regular guest on radio and television, providing insights on macroeconomic conditions, fiscal policy and the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decisions.
