Liliana Deck is a lecturer at Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics where she shares her passion with future generations teaching Nonprofit and Social Marketing in the Finance and Marketing Department. Dr. Deck’s interdisciplinary research focuses on migration, family, and education in fragile contexts. Her work in the nonprofit sector includes local and global nonprofit organizations with an emphasis on education, social services, and health care in Colombia, United States, and Cambodia. Her transnational experience and professional career include work in corporate, nonprofit, and academic settings serving vulnerable populations.
Dr. Deck’s position at Western Washington University Small Business Development Center leads the center’s outreach to entrepreneurs farther from opportunity by helping identify structural barriers to business technical assistance and developing strategies to eliminate underlying obstacles to entrepreneurial success supporting the economic development of the region.
