Jongwook Kim is a professor in the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University. Currently, he teaches the capstone Strategic Management courses at both the undergraduate and MBA levels and has taught the International Management course for the undergraduate International Business program. His research deals with issues at the intersection of institutional economics and innovation management, such as alliance governance, intellectual property rights in the biotechnology industry. His articles have appeared in such journals as the Journal of Management, Managerial and Decision Economics, Industrial and Corporate Change, and Industry and Innovation. He has also presented numerous articles at conferences like the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, and INFORMS, as well as serving as discussant and panelist on several occasions. Professor Kim has received the Dennis R. Murphy Research Award in 2004, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, and the Dean's Research Award in 2018.
