Moving from Pre-Major to Full Major

Due to capacity constraints, students who are accepted as pre-majors in the Department of Decision Sciences may not be accepted as full majors. Please review the information below to find out how to become a full major in your area of study.

      • Trends in academic performance
      • Performance in courses taken at other institutions as listed on the Transfer Equivalency Report

  • Academic performance will be the primary decision factor, but other factors may be considered (e.g., rationale for pursuing field of study, related work experience, student leadership, etc.).

Provisional Major Status

All Decision Sciences programs have a provisional major status for eligible students. Provisional majors are able to register for major restricted courses.

Students who are enrolled in their last foundation course(s), but have not received a grade will be given provisional major status if they meet all other full major requirements.  Provisional majors must pass the foundation course(s) they are currently enrolled in with a C- or better or they will lose their provisional major status and be asked to withdraw from major restricted courses.

Students can only be provisional majors once.
