WWU Students win First place in the Boeing Case Competition

The 2022 Boeing Northwest Case Competition challenged students to apply their business knowledge in an integrated team setting to solve industrial problems that they may encounter in the real world.

The case problem for this year was to have students create a business plan to implement an overall reclamation and salvage strategy of commercial aircrafts with a service life of 20-30 years. Participating students would then have to describe the resources required in their strategy plan, and were encouraged to outline risks, opportunities, and strategic decisions Boeing should consider with their product and supply chain.

CBE students created a team called "Smooth Operators", and won first place in the first annual Boeing Northwest Case Competition on Friday, Nov. 8, at the Museum of Flight in Seattle! Congratulations to Kezia Park, Jacob DeCook, Jorge Hernandez, Ben Lewis, and Karhum Samaha!

SAP/ERPsim Sustainability Challenge

WWU CBE students also participated in the SAP/ERPsim Sustainability Challenge on October 27th, 2022. In the challenge, participating teams played 4 rounds of the ERPsim Logistics Sustainability Game. Each round was made of 10 virtual days of 60 seconds each. Teams were ranked based on their company valuation and sustainability.

CBE students participated in 2 different teams. Team "A", which won First Place, was made of Jacob DeCook, Levi Carlisle, Paige Curley, Russell Young, Zola Carbone, and their faculty coach, Dr. Lillian Fok. Team "C" was made of Foster Barnhart, Annette Lam, Vidhya Rao, Jorge Hernandez, Pik Ariyamethee, and their faculty coach, Mr. Brian Morgans.
