The Fraser Institute is an independent non-partisan research and educational organization based in Canada. The Fraser Institute publishes peer-reviewed research into critical economic and public policy issues including taxation, government spending, health care, school performance, and trade.
The Border Policy Research Institute (BPRI) is a multi-disciplinary research institute housed at Western Washington University. The BPRI focuses on research that informs policy-makers on matters related to the Canada-U.S. border. Priority focus areas are trade and transportation, economics, environment, immigration, and border security. WWU established the BPRI to further a mission of promoting research, academic programs, and public programming on critical policy issues affecting the Pacific Northwest. The BPRI collaborates with many public and private entities within the region, and along the breadth of the 49th parallel.
The Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) is a United States nonprofit think tank specializing in U.S. foreign policy and international affairs. It is headquartered in New York City, with an additional office in Washington, D.C. Its membership, which numbers 4,900, has included senior politicians, more than a dozen secretaries of state, CIA directors, bankers, lawyers, professors, and senior media figures. Our own Ross Professor, Edward Alden is Bernard L. Schwartz senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), specializing in U.S. economic competitiveness, trade, and immigration policy.
