Dr. Christopher Sands

Ross Professor ~ 2012-2017

The CIB welcomed Dr. Christopher Sands to the Ross Chair Fall Quarter of 2012. Dr. Sands is a Senior Fellow at Hudson Institute, where he specializes on Canada and U.S.-Canadian relations, as well as North American economic integration. He is also a professorial lecturer at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, an adjunct professor in Government at the American University School of Public Affairs, and lectures at the Foreign Service Institute of the U.S. Department of State and for the US Department of Homeland Security.

Dr. Stephen Blank

Dr. Blank is Co-Chair of North American Transportation Competitiveness Research Council. He serves as Senior Fellow at the North American Center for Transborder Studies at Arizona State University, at Columbia University's Center for Energy, Marine Transport and Public Policy and at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). Dr. Blank holds a BA (Dartmouth), MA (Cambridge), and MA and PhD (Harvard).

Dr. James Dean

Dr. Dean is professor emeritus at Simon Fraser University and has held visiting appointments at about 25 universities and research institutions world-wide. He specializes in international macroeconomics and finance, as well as developing and transitioning economies. Dr. Dean frequently consults and lectures internationally, and has published about 120 articles and monographs. Dr. Dean holds a B.Sc., M.A. and Ph.D. from Carelton and Harvard Universities.

Dr. Steven Globerman

Steven Globerman is currently the Kaiser Professor of International Business and and Director of the Center for International Business at Western Washington University. Previously Dr. Globerman held tenured appointments at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia and at York University, Faculty of Administrative Studies in Toronto. He has also been a visiting professor at the University of California, University of British Columbia, Stockholm School of Economics, Copenhagen School of Business and the Helsinki School of Economics. Dr. Globerman holds a B.A. from Brooklyn College, a M.A. from the University of California and a Ph.D. from New York University

Dr. Alan Rugman

Ross Professor ~ 1992-1994

Alan Rugman passed away in 2015. Dr. Rugman was Professor of International Business at the Henley Business School of the University of Reading. He was also the Director of Research in the School of Management. As a leading authority in international business, he published over 250 articles dealing with the economic, managerial, and strategic aspects of multinational enterprises and with trade and investment policy. Dr. Rugman had a B.A. in economics from Leeds University, a M.Sc. in economic development from London University's School of Oriental and African Studies, and his Ph.D. in economics is from Simon Fraser University.
