Mark Staton

About

Mark Staton is an Associate Professor of Marketing for the College of Business & Economics at Western Washington University. He earned his PhD in Marketing from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. His research interests include consumer psychology, ethical standards of judgment, digital marketing, pedagogy and consumer culture theory. In October 2019, he was invited to join the editorial board of the Journal of Marketing Education.

In addition to his academic work, he has significant professional experience in advertising and product management and has consulted and lectured internationally.

He holds an MBA in Marketing from Boston University and a BA in History (concentration in Southern United States) from the University of Virginia.

In January of 2017, Mark became the Director of the MBA and graduate programs at the College of Business and Economics. In April of 2017, he received the university's Excellence in Teaching Award, and in June of 2019 he was included in the Innovative Teaching Showcase, created by the Center for Instructional Innovation & Assessment at Western Washington University.
