What is Digital Badging?
Digital Badges are an online, digital recognition of gained skills. Digital badges provide earners with the opportunity to share their completed accomplishments in desirable and employable skills. These badges contain data that include description, earning criteria, specific skills, and other parameters set by the institution. After earning, recipients can digitally display and share badges that easily verify the acquisition of specific skills and proficiency in certain subjects.

Why be Involved with Badging?
A student badge earner is an individual who completes specific learning goals or achievements in a program and earns a digital badge as recognition. Through this process, students gain valuable skills, demonstrate proficiency, and receive acknowledgment for their efforts. Earning badges helps students showcase their accomplishments, build a portfolio, and stand out in academic or professional settings. It also provides motivation, as badges represent tangible milestones in their educational journey.
By developing a badge with the College of Business and Economics, programs and on campus partners can issue digital badges to students who complete specific achievements or learning objectives. Through this process, the issuer provides students with recognition for their skills, accomplishments, and progress in various academic or extracurricular areas.
