Share your career journey and where you are now:
Graduated 1990 CBE with Finance major and a minor in accounting. That 3 cr class on "govt/non-profit accounting" really got me interested in fund based accounting and my career! Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Staff Accountant then negotiated grants/contracts from NIH (1991-2000) then returned to Bellingham -- Finance Director, Workforce Development Council (2000-2007) and Whatcom County Govt, Health Dept Supervisor (2007-2013) and finally Birch Bay Water & Sewer District Finance Director and now General Manager (2013-now).
What is your favorite CBE Memory
Three favorite memories: joining a very active business club on campus and meeting so many new friends that way, taking a tiny 3 cr class "to fill a gap in my schedule" that ended up changing my life trajectory (govt/non-profit accounting), and enjoying the faculty/professors so much.
