Advising Information for Marketing Program Majors
Direct Admit
Starting in Fall 2026, the Marketing Department is moving to direct admit to major.
Students who chose to opt in to Direct Admit to Major as part of their admission process to WWU have been automatically admitted to the CBE major of their choice. Students who did not opt in through Direct Admit to Major should follow the declaration steps in the catalog and submit an application to declare a CBE Major or Minor to cbe.applications@wwu.edu
Foundation & Additional Resources
Students admitted into the program will be assigned a faculty advisor. You can find your faculty advisor name on Degree Works and their contact information on the Faculty and Staff page.
Please use the WWU Catalog and your course plan designed with your advisor or department manager to make sure you are on track with Core and Foundation courses.

Plan of Study - Catalog Year 2025-2026
For students entering the Business Administration - Marketing Concentration after Fall 2025, please use the following course plan to guide you:
Congratulations! You're almost ready to graduate. But what are the steps?
Plan early. Degree application deadlines are about two quarters before your intended graduation quarter. For example, if you plan to graduate Spring Quarter, you will need to complete this process Fall Quarter to avoid late fees.
First, review the information provided on the Registrar's Office Degree Application website.
Next, contact your major and minor departments to request an evaluation for graduation. For the marketing program, about two weeks before the degree application deadline, contact the department manager to request a major evaluation.
The department manager will review your request and email you with next steps.
Degree Requirements
Remember that in addition to your major requirements, the university has several degree requirements. Some of these include:
- Minimum of 180 credits
- Minimum of 45 credits earned at Western
- Minimum of 60 upper-division credits
- General University Requirements
- Approved academic major
At least 50 percent of the major credits must be earned at Western.
