Western Graduate Student Scholarships

Western Washington University offers over 300 scholarships to graduate students annually. There are three sections of scholarships: departmental, non-departmental, and diversity scholarships. An application must have been submitted and a Western identification number been assigned in order to complete the scholarship form. The application deadline is 5 p.m. (PST) May 1.

Western MBA Student Scholarships

Western MBA scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated academic achievement, promise of continued outstanding performance and financial need.

ELIAS A. BOND GRADUATE FELLOW IN BUSINESS
The Bond Fellowship is awarded to full-time graduate students enrolled in the MBA Program. Selections will be made from admitted graduate students on the basis of academic merit. The Bond Fellowship will be awarded annually by the MBA Scholarship Committee of the College of Business and Economics. Elias A. Bond was a mathematics professor at Western for 40 years and the namesake of Bond Hall on the Western campus.

DONALD H. COLE MEMORIAL GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP
The Fellowship will be offered annually in the MBA Program. Cole Graduate Fellowship recipients will be determined by the MBA Scholarship Committee of the College of Business and Economics. The Cole Fellowship was established in 1990 by Mrs. Blythe Cole and family, to honor Donald H. Cole, Western's Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs, who was killed in a 1987 plane crash.

SETTLEMYER FAMILY GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP
The Settlemyer Fellowship will e offered annually to an MBA student with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and who demonstrates financial need. The Settlemyer Family Fellowship will be awarded by the MBA Scholarship Committee of the College of Business and Economics. The Fellowship was endowed by Earl Settlemyer, in honor of his parents, Harry and Katherine Settlemyer, who understood that education is the American road out of poverty and ultimately the key to success.

SEATTLE BUSINESS FORUM WOLFE-LEINBACH GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP
The Wolfe-Leinbach Fellowship is awarded to full-time graduate students enrolled in the MBA Program. Selection will be made from admitted graduate students on the basis of academic merit. The Fellowship will be awarded annually by the MBA Scholarship Committee of the College of Business and Economics. The Wolfe-Leinbach Fellowship is donated by the prominent Seattle legal firm of Wolfe-Leinbach and is awarded on the basis of academic achievement.

HARRINGTON FAMILY ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP
Students who have completed their BA in Accounting from WWU and are entering graduate studies are eligible for the Harrington Family Accounting Scholarship. Selection of recipients by the Graduate Scholarship Committee will be based on academic achievement and demonstrated leadership.

Outside Scholarships

NATIONAL SOCIETY OF HISPANIC MBAs SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs provides financial assistance to outstanding Hispanics pursuing an MBA. Over $1 million in financial assistance was awarded in 2008. $5,000, $7,000 and $10,000 scholarships are available for full-time students and $2,500 scholarships are available for part-time students. PUGET SOUND BUSINESS JOURNAL'S WOMEN OF INFLUENCE - LYTLE ENTERPRISES SCHOLARSHIP
The purpose of this scholarship is to honor and give financial support to female students pursuing a graduate level business degree in Washington State. This application is currently closed.
