❑ Financial Economics majors are required to take an assessment exam prior to graduation. The test is provided at no charge. Students will be informed of the time and date of the examination. The examination requirement may be waived in the case of special circumstances by the Department Chair of Economics or Finance & Marketing or by the Dean of the College of Business and Economics.

*Students can test out of MIS 220.

The required courses build a strong foundation of finance and economic theory and should be completed by one's junior year. The requirement for one course with a Communication Focus (CF) as well as a minimum of three Writing Proficiency (WP-3) points are currently built into the major's required coursework.

Students often complete courses that are equivalent to MIS 220, Math 124, Math 157 and DSCI 205. If you believe that you have completed an equivalent course, see the Academic Department Manager for an equivalency evaluation.

General University Requirements (GUR):
Several of your prerequisite and required courses also count as GURs. Look for classes in the course lists below that are labeled as "GUR." By planning your schedule properly you can reduce the total number of classes needed.
