I never obtained a job in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement. This was likely because I could not get an internship, because I had high volume of competition, mediocre grades, and little networking skills. From 2014 to 2023 I worked 11 different seasonal labor and odd jobs. in 2017-2018 I went back to school at Highline College in International Business and Trade, hoping to become a freight forwarder. There was some overlap with marketing, and a little bit of new concepts specific to freight and culture. Again, I could not get an internship, and did not find a job in that field. I went back to school again in 2021 to March 2023 for Computer Aided Drafting in CATIA 3DX, Solidworks, Revit, and AutoCAD. In February 2023, I got a job as a civil drafter, and modified 2D drawings in Civil3D, based on redlines from the Civil Engineers. In June 2023, I got a new job, allegedly to do Modelling in CATIA V5, as a Liaison Engineering Technical Designer in Aerospace. Whenever there is a discrepancy on the model, drawing or documents, or the shop needs to use a substitute part, I investigate the problem, coordinate and draft a solution, and propose it to various engineers and review boards for approval. It is very complicated and a lot more navigating bureaucracy than modelling, but it is interesting. Sometimes still I apply for supply chain jobs, and I recently took a refresher training on Six Sigma, but I've forgotten much of what I learned at WWU College of Business and Economics.
