Share your career journey and where you are now:
I am a Senior Commercial Insurance Specialty Underwriter at Chubb, underwriting property and casualty coverage for businesses with annual insurance expenditures ranging from $100,000 to $5,000,000. Reaching this role required persistence and resilience. After graduating from WWU CBE, I often found myself overlooked in favor of candidates from more highly ranked institutions. Yet the education I received at WWU CBE provided me with the knowledge, confidence, and critical thinking skills necessary to succeed. Coupled with an unwavering work ethic and an insatiable drive to improve, it allowed me not only to compete with peers from prestigious universities, but to thrive alongside them.
What is your favorite CBE Memory
Working alongside Nate, Doug, and Brandon in Eric Wehrly's Capstone Financial Management class was the highlight of my time at WWU CBE. The experience challenged me to think critically, collaborate effectively, and apply the concepts we had learned throughout our education to real-world business problems. It reinforced the value of teamwork and remains one of my most meaningful memories from my time at the College of Business and Economics. To this day, Nate remains one of my closest friends and trusted professional advisors. We still look back fondly on those late nights spent in the computer lab, refining presentations and pushing one another to do our best work.
